In 1955, Sergeant First Class Leon Edward Wilkins joined Battery A, 690th Field Artillery Battalion. During the 32 years he served in many assignments, but seemed to have a love for the Motor Pool. During the Gulf War, Leon was deployed with the 691st Maintenance Company to Iraq

Leon was a easy going extremely good soldier. He was admired by his comrades and his commanders. I know, for I was Leon's Battery Commander in the early years of his career and was in positions to observe him through out his career.
