Daniel was born and educated in Lenoir County. He Received a call to the
US Army in 1952 and was trained in infantry basic training at Ft. Jackson, South
Carolina. He was sent to Korea arriving shortly before the end of the war.
He was a Radio Operator Supplying communications for the 9th Corp. 1st.
and 2nd Battalion. He is retired from Civil Service at Cherry Point. He and
his wife, Jean Grady Riggs resides at 3685 Hwy W. New Bern, North Carolina
