Mack K. Horner was born in Moore County in the town of Robbins, North Carolina and joined the Army in his third year at Elon College. He served in the Old Hickory Division in France, Company 1, 120th Infantry, and authorized the World War I Victory Medal with Service Clasp for France. Discharged in 1919. After the war he worked for Imperial Life Insrance Company. He had an office in Kinston, North Carolina. Honored by Tom Horner
