George "Little George" Laws was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina on
September 15, 1946. He was drafted into the United States Army July 12, 1966. He
served a tour in Vietnam as cook. During his service of two years, he
acheived the rank of Specialist Fourth Class (E3). When he completed his active
duty of two years of service, he was transferred to the Army Reserve.
On August 14, 1968, he joined the United States Navy for a term of two years. He
served as a Stock Clerk aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Independence (CVA 62).
He was released from active service on May 12, 1970 and transfer to the Naval
Reserve.
