The Purple Heart
CPL Robert Junior Garrett entered the US Army from Grifton, North Carolina.
He was assigned to Company C, 3rd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry
Davison in Vietnam. He was killed on June 9, 1970 by small arms fire in Binh
Dinh Province, South Vietnam. His name is located at panel 09W, line 33
of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C.
His awards include the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Purple Heart Medal,
the National Defense Service Medal, the
Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Service Medal.
